A home. Support. A way forward.

A stable home gives people room to plan for what comes next. The initiative connects housing with practical support, cultural and community relationships, and opportunities to pursue education, training and employment.

It sits within the wider NBA and UEF collaboration on Indigenous-led community transformation. The partnership brings housing, education, wellness, culture and economic opportunity into a long-term approach shaped with participating communities.

Support that continues beyond move-in.

Trifocal’s proposed contribution is to help sustain the programmes and partnerships around housing: coordinating resident support, connecting education and employment partners, and developing resources for ongoing programmes, operations and maintenance.

This continuity gives residents a foundation from which to pursue their own goals. The initial proposal considers 30 transitional homes; funding, delivery arrangements and the detailed programme are in development.

UN-Habitat and the World Urban Pavilion

Urban Economy Forum co-founded the World Urban Pavilion with UN-Habitat, the United Nations Human Settlements Programme. The Pavilion connects community development with international knowledge, research and innovation.

The NBA and UEF Indigenous-led platform is being developed with anticipated involvement and support from UN-Habitat. It connects international expertise with housing, education and wellness priorities shaped by participating communities.

About the World Urban Pavilion

Housing, support and opportunity

Three priorities guide the programme being developed.

01

Stability

Reliable housing, care for the homes and practical help with everyday needs.

02

Connection

Resident support and cultural and community connections, developed with local partners.

03

Opportunity

Pathways to learning, skills development and employment, guided by each resident’s goals.

Community benefit

Progress defined with residents.

As the initiative develops, success will be assessed through housing stability, participation in learning and employment pathways, and residents’ own accounts of progress. Measures will be developed with community and service partners.
